Kennel Club, Good Citizen Dog Scheme.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training scheme in the UK. Its aim is to promote responsible dog ownership and in turn, enhance our relationship with our pets and to make the community aware of the benefits associated with dog ownership.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Puppy Foundation Assessment aims to provide a means of socialising puppies and to lay down a foundation for education and training. On successful completion of the course puppies will respond to their handlers and the handlers will have an awareness of the responsibilities of dog ownership.

The scheme incorporates three awards - Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level involving a gradual development in the understanding of your dog. On successful completion of each of the levels, participants will be awarded a certificate to mark their achievement and a rosette on completion of the bronze award. The silver award offers an additional dog identification disc and the gold, an optional pin badge to recognise such significant achievements.
