Entry is where Beginner Classification has been achieved or assessed by the instructor, Dog and Handler are able to compete at class one agility competitions. Instruction is given on contact equipment, and jumping of hurdles at a 650mm the normal height for German Shepherd dogs. The Dog and Handler will be instructed on all of the clubs equipment and will become proficient in each item.
Handlers will be able to assess courses and identify areas that may require particular techniques to improve performance and timing. Entire courses are practised; the course is designed with the novice in mind and to a level higher than would be expected in a class one competition. Approximately twenty pieces of equipment are set out; courses are broken down into training elements and then the entire course is completed.
